The sunsets here are far more beautiful than I could have anticipated. I find them even more pleasing than those I saw in the desert. Perhaps it is because if I turn my back on the sun, I can gaze upon snow-capped mountains that are not so far distant. But, should I turn around again and find the sun almost gone, and the sky above is lit with a dull but vibrant orange fire which slowly fades into angelic blue, I can comfort myself with the idea that the day has promoted itself into night so that we may each rest and cry without fear of being overheard.
